Nomads in Bangus fume as absence of basic amenities throws their life out of gear

Srinagar: Nomads flocking sheep and cattle to famous tourist resort Bangus valley in Kupwara district are suffering hugely for the want of basic amenities including shelter, health facilities, power availability and schools for children.

According to the KNS correspondent, thousands of families flocking sheep and cattle to Bangus valley take refuge in temporary wooden hutments as they find make shifts tents missing at this fast growing tourist place. The families suffer for the want of shelter, power availability, health facilities, schools for their children and repeated attempts to draw the attention of concerned authorities have not attracted the attention of the concerned authorities. Interestingly the families are spending three months of midsummer in Bangus valley without basic amenities of life.

The worst hit is the education of the children of the nomads who don’t find schools in or around Bangus valley as the authorities turn a deaf ear to the repeated demands for establishing mobile schools at this growing tourist place in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
