Amit Shah chairs security review meet on J&K

The union home minister on Thursday chaired a review meeting in New Delhi on the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, reports said.

As per reports the security review meeting about J&K was held in the backdrop of Taliban taking over the Afghanistan and announcing the formation of new government.

They said that the meeting was attended by army chief MM Naravane, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and other stakeholders in Jammu Kashmir.

"DG BSF, Pankaj Singh and DG CRPF, Kuldip Singh were also present in the meeting," reports said.

Meanwhile, sources said that the situation along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir and recent infiltration bids also came up for the discussion during the meeting.

They said that Director General of Police Jammu and Kashmir, Dilbag Singh and J&K intelligence chief RR Swain were also present in the meeting.

Meanwhile, Spokesperson of Union Home Minister on its official Twitter handle said: “Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting in New Delhi to review the security and development issues of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. He appreciated the initiatives on development taken by the UT administration to fulfill the vision of PM Modi.”
