These habitations received power supply for the first time after the Electric Division Budgam completed the electrification process for the habitations recently.

These habitations were earlier provided with solar lights and totally dependent on solar power.

The electrification project of these villages was taken up under various schemes. For connecting these villages with the Electricity Grid, the department has created new power infrastructure which includes 63 kVA Sub-Station each at these three villages. The electrification project for all three habitations has been completed at the estimated cost of Rs 24.48 lakh.

As these villages are now connected with the Grid, every house is now getting regular and quality power supply through the newly created power infrastructure.

With no electricity network in the village, we were facing many difficulties especially our children who were dependent only on day light and solar lights to study. But now, they are happy fully utilizing the electricity for their studies, a local resident said.

Speaking on this development, a woman from one of the habitations said that electrification has removed many hardships and difficulties from our lives. Our children are now studying easily under the light of the bulbs.

Local residents of these electrified villages thanked the Government for their hard efforts in illuminating their lives. They have expressed happiness and gratitude over the electrification of the households and called this development a big positive change in their lives.

The task of getting these habitats electrified was difficult as the same are located in far flung areas of the district but due to the sincere efforts of the Electric Division Budgam, villagers are now getting regular power supply.
