She got training from a renowned Martial Arts coach, Saleem Pathan. During the course of time, while Tabia was busy with her Sqay Martial Arts training, some members of her family tried to resist and abandon her from playing the game.

Talking to The Kashmir Magazine, she said that she was never appreciated by anyone which proved to be a great barrier and hindrance for her sports career, but she never quit her mission and continued to take part in her favourite game with the same determination and dedication.

She said that she also faced severe criticism from her villagers too, but she never looked back and continued to take training in Sqay Martial Arts and become the iconic figure of District Ganderbal, an inspiration to many more.

She is now a national level player and medalist in Sqay Martial Arts. Tabia is also very good at playing handball and knows skiing as well. It also proved hard for her to play such games due to non-availability of such platforms especially for girls in the valley.
